This is a non-profit, private organization that was created by the
North Carolina General Assembly to provide long-term economic and
societal benefits through the encouragement of biotechnology research.
Visitors to the site can learn about the activities this organization is
involved in, view their calendar of upcoming events, and read the
latest biotechnology news. Users can also view current and past issues
of the Center's newsletter, the Catalyst.
U.S. Coast Guard Historic Lightstation Information:
This site, maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard, features architectural
and historical information on various North Carolina lighthouses. Some
entries contain photographs of the associated structure.
Queen Anne's Revenge (Shipwreck--Beaufort):
The Queen Anne’s Revenge was Blackbeard’s flagship, whose sunken
remains are located near Morehead City, North Carolina. The state of
North Carolina and East Carolina University are both sponsoring the
project which is intent on recovering, interpreting, and preserving the
remains of the ship. Interested users can stay up to date with the
archaeological recovery efforts, recovered artifacts, conservation and
educational efforts, and the history of the project.
