North Carolina Online Resources: an Annotated List of NC Websites: Children

Action for Children is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to the health and well being of North Carolina's children. The website includes links to resources focusing on research and policy change in four areas: child health and safety, early care and education, child maltreatment, and juvenile justice.

Sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services, the Division of Child Care's site serves as a resource for parents and providers of child care. The website provides review records for all licensed day care providers in the state, North Carolina child care laws, and resources for locating reputable child care facilities.

NC WiseOwl (NC Online Windows for Learning) provides online subscription resources for all schools. The website provides online newspaper, dictionary, state and county facts, and many other resources for children K-12.

The North Carolina Department of Commerce, Division of Tourism, Film and Sports Development website provides information on family fun with destinations and attractions for kids of all ages. Links include trip ideas, maps, and guides along with other resources.
