This site, maintained by the NC Geographic Information Coordinating Council, contains a wealth of geospatial data for the state. Visitors can view maps featuring a wide array of data, including roads, elevation, municipal and county boundaries, congressional districts, hazardous waste sites, land use, and even aerial photographs.
North Carolina Center for Geographic Information and Analysis:
This site is the gateway to a statewide database for geographic information. The CGIA "attempts to improve the accessibility of geographic information in North Carolina." “Geo Info” Links are listed along with projects, products, services, and surveys.
North Carolina Floodplain Maps:
This site, maintained by the North Carolina Floodplain Mapping Program, offers links not only to the latest flood plain maps, but also to news, public documents, and resources concerning floods and flood management.
North Carolina Geographic Data Clearinghouse:
This site was designed to "bring geographic data producers and users together by allowing producers of geographic data within North Carolina to advertise their data, and by enabling all data users to perform multiple types of data searches." The site allows for complex searches to be made of sources such as North Carolina State Library and National Geospatial Data Clearinghouse.
