APA Citation Style, 7th Edition: Interviews & Emails

Citing Interviews in APA Format

How to Create an APA 7th edition Reference for an email or a personal interview

Important Note: If you are citing an email or a personal interview for your paper, only cite the interview in-text only and DO NOT include the full citation in your reference list. Personal communications that are unpublished like personal interviews, emails, telephone conversations, private letters, memos, etc. are not included in the reference list because they do not provide any recoverable data.

Please refer to page 259-260 of the APA Manual, 6th Edition if you have any questions.

Helpful Tips

-Cite archived personal communications in-text and in the reference list.

-Do not cite non-archived personal communications in your reference list as they do not provide any recoverable information. Only provide in-text citations throughout your publication.
