Room Reservations at Laupus Library: FAQs

Use this guide to help you make a room reservation at Laupus Library on the Health Sciences Campus.
  1. How do I make a room reservation?
    • Click on "Reserve a Room" from the Laupus homepage.
    • Click on a green box to select the room and time.
    • At the bottom of the screen, adjust your end time with the drop down menu.
      • Note: You can reserve up to 6 hours per day.
      • Note: You may reserve multiple times in the same room in one sitting; however, if you want to reserve multiple rooms, you will need to make each reservation individually. For more information, please see this tutorial video.
    • Follow the prompts to log in with your ECU credentials.
      • Note: Room reservation is available only for ECU-affiliated users. You must have an ECU e-mail account to be able to reserve a room.
    • Complete the submission by clicking on Submit my Booking.
    • You will receive a confirmation from LibCal in your ECU e-mail inbox.
  2. What if I don’t receive the confirmation e-mail and/or code?
    • The confirmation e-mail will come from LibCal with the subject "Your room reservation has been confirmed."
    • Please check your spam folder for an e-mail from LibCal.
    • If you don't receive the confirmation e-mail and/or code, please visit the Service Desk on the 2nd floor of Laupus Library at the time of your reservation for help checking in.
  3. What if I can’t find the confirmation e-mail and/or code?
    • If you can't find the confirmation e-mail and/or code, please visit the Service Desk on the 2nd floor of Laupus Library at the time of your reservation for help checking in.
  4. Do I have to check in to my reservation?
    • Yes, you must check in to your room within the first 15 minutes. Otherwise, your reservation is forfeited and the room becomes bookable again, and you may be asked to leave the room and make a new reservation.
  5. Do I have to check in to each reservation if I have more than one block?
    • Yes, you must check in to each reservation within the first 15 minutes of the reservation time. Otherwise, your reservation is forfeited and the room becomes bookable again.
    • If you you have multiple reservations in the same room, you will use the same code to check in at the beginning of each reservation.
    • If you have multiple reservations in different rooms, you will use the code for each room at the beginning of each reservation.
  6. I made multiple reservations, but I only received one code. What do I do?
    • If you made multiple reservations in the same room, you will receive only one confirmation e-mail and one code from LibCal. You will use the same code at the beginning of each reservation to check in to the room.
  7. How do I reserve more than one room at a time?
  8. How do I make changes to my reservation?
    • At this time, LibCal does not permit the management of reservations that have been completed; instead, you may delete your reservation and make a new one.
    • To delete an existing reservation, you can click the cancellation link that was e-mailed to you in the confirmation e-mail. For assistance, please see the Service Desk on the second floor or call 252-744-2219.
