Vireo ETD Management System: After You Deposit

Electronic Theses and Dissertations deposit process

ETD Process

  1. Upon submission, a Graduate School representative will review your manuscript.
  2. Also upon submission, your committee chair will receive an automated email to review your submitted manuscript and note the embargo and access options you have selected.
  3. If your manuscript requires revisions, the Graduate School representative will send you an email via the Vireo system.
    • Note: it can take a week or more to review submissions; please be patient.
  4. After making any required changes, you can log back into Vireo to upload the revised file.
  5. Once all corrections have been made, the Graduate School will notify you that the ETD has been accepted.

The Institutional Repository

All theses and dissertations from East Carolina University are deposited to The ScholarShip, ECU's institutional repository. With its mission to store and make accessible our content, The ScholarShip demonstrates ECU's commitment to our public stewardship of knowledge.

ProQuest Dissertations and Theses

After the dissertations and theses are deposited to The ScholarShip, they will be deposited to ProQuest's Dissertations and Theses Global database. Your thesis/dissertation will be available to ProQuest subscribers on the same schedule you set for access in ECU's institutional repository. ProQuest's copies of the theses and dissertations are imported to the Turnitin database to prevent others from plagiarizing your work.
