Locating Citation Information

The following tutorials will help you locate citation information in order to create a References List. While clicking through the tutorials, please write down the bits of information for each of the types of resources in order to construct the citation. Please note that not every article, book, and website will have all of the information in the exact same place, however, this is a good start to help you find citation elements.

Constructing a Citation

Now that you have the different elements of a citation written down, try to create citations for each of the different kinds of materials. Here is the format:

Article

Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Date of publication). Title of article. Title of Journal, volume number (issue). doi:0000000/000000000000

Now you try! Click the button to the right to check your answer.

Website

Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Date of publication). Title of document. Retrieved from http://Web address

Now you try! Click the button to the right to check your answer.

Book

Author, A. A. (Year of publication). Title of work: Capital letter also for subtitle. Location: Publisher.

Now you try! Click the button to the right to check your answer.
