  • You have a research topic that your professor has assigned.
    • You have learned about your topic and can write a well-researched paper with reliable and valid sources.  Hopefully you will earn an A+
  • You want to learn about a disorder that your cousin has.
    • You know a bit more about what your cousin is going through and you can, hopefully, offer support.  Perhaps you can point him in the right direction for gathering information as well so he can be more informed at his next appointment with his doctor.
  • You have a patient who has come to the clinic and you are deciding how to treat her.
    • You have synthesized the best research evidence, your clinical expertise, and her values to determine the best possible treatment plan for her.  She is hopeful about her prognosis and treatment and you look forward to following her progress.
