Overview of Campus Resources

This page contains a list of offices and resources provided by East Carolina University that may be helpful to users of this LibGuide.  Resources are divided into the following categories.

Health Care Resources and Clinics

Student Health Services: Provides detailed information about all health service resources on the ECU campus.  Can be contacted for details about specific health care needs.

LGBTQ+ Health: Information published by ECU’s Student Health Services (SHS) about ways that SHS can support health of LGBTQ+ students. 

ECU Counseling Services: Supports the ECU community’s mental health needs through counseling, education, and research.  Individuals and groups can schedule appointments for therapy.

Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic: Provides therapy services for individuals, couples, and families within and around Pitt County.

Other ECU Services

Financial Wellness Hub: Provides informational support for students and employees related to financial topics.

ECU My Name Platform: Allows individuals to select their own preferred name and pronouns for use within ECU’s systems, such as on Canvas.  This page provides instructions for that process. 

Disability Support Services: Supports students in the process of connecting with university programs, services, facilities, and activities.

Community Engagement Centers

Ledonia Wright Cultural Center: Organizes programming and provides resources for the ECU population to encourage conversation about the many cultures within the ECU community and the population. 

Dr. Jesse R. Peel LGBTQ Center: Organizes programming and provides resources for the ECU population and promotes acceptance and understanding of the LGBTQ+ community.  

Women and Gender Center: Provides programming and resources to meet the needs of the campus, especially women and gender minorities. 

Campus Offices

Office of the Dean of Students: Receives complaints and concerns from ECU students to explore ways of better meeting student needs and improving university services. 

Student Affairs: Manages all ECU matters relating to students.  This includes the campus centers, services and programs provided for students, and offices for tickets and reservations. 

Student Engagement: Support the objectives of student affairs by serving as an umbrella department for all offices that enhance student “development, engagement, belonging, well-being, and career readiness”.  Includes offices such as the Dr. Jesse R. Peel LGBTQ Center and the Women and Gender Center. 

Center for Student Success: Organizes and provides information about the ECU services that are designed to support student’s needs.  These include mental health, counseling, academic, and other services.
