Modern Language Association (MLA) is a popular citation and formatting style used widely across many fields, including languages, literatures, and cultural studies.  Publication styles like MLA or APA formalize the rules for presenting your work, including the layout of your paper and the formatting and arrangement of the works you cite.

This guide offers guidance on the 8th edition of the MLA Handbook with an emphasis on the citing of sources.
