Our hope for this guide is twofold: To provide background information on our committee's goals and to provide an archive of our previous programs and recorded events

Below are some of the events that that the Laupus Library Diversity Committee has sponsored in the past

  • Fall 2014 - "Native American Tribal Traditions" a brown bag lunch discussion with Jessica Bardill, PhD, Assistant Professional of Native American Literatures. 
  • Spring 2015 - "Its Not Where You Come From" a discussion celebrating African American Heritage Month with Dr. Paul Cunningham. 
  • Summer 2015 - "Ouch! That Stereotype Hurts" - a presentation co-sponsored by the Joyner Library Diversity Committee. 
  • Spring 2017 - Staff trainings: "Microaggressions in the Workplace" & "Responsible, Who Me? - Title IX Presentation
  • Spring 2018, Spring 2019 - "The Spring Fling" - A Health Sciences Diversity & Information Fair, co-sponsored with the Sexual Gender Diversity Committee, with over a dozen vendors and diversity activities for the Health Sciences Campus.
  • Summer/Fall 2018, Summer/Fall 2019 - "Welcome Back Social" - An event to welcome Health Sciences Students back to campus for Fall. Co-sponsored with the Sexual Gender Diversity Committee, with a dozen vendors and fun events. 
  • Fall 2019 - Native American Heritage Month - Lunch & Learn, A panel event with Dr. Ronny Bell, Alicia Hunt, and several Indigenous ECU students, we provided lunch for the first 25 attendees.
